70's cult folk singer Vashti Bunyan has signed to the excellent Fat Cat, where she will join others on the impressive label, including :Mice Parade, Mum, The Animal Collective, The Mutts and David Grubbs.
The singer-songwriter released just 1 solo album in 1970 entitled Just Another Diamond Day, which due to lack of a real release, saw the artist escape stardom.
The album was reissued on CD during 2000 by the Spinney label, while more recently, Bunyan has made guest appearances on several releases for Piano Magic, Devendra Banhart and a collaboration EP with Animal Collective.
Vashti is now currently in a studio in her hometown of Edinburgh, recording new songs for an album to be released through Fat Cat before the end of the year. The album is being co-produced by Max Richter.
